In pubblicazione il prossimo 11 Novembre 2022, GUNS N' ROSES - USE YOUR ILLUSION I & II SUPER DELUXE comprende 97 tracce in totale, di cui 63 inedite. Disponibile in diversi formati, tra cui una Super Deluxe con 7 CD + Blu-ray ed una Super Deluxe con 12 LP + Blu-ray, oltre alle riedizioni separate dei due album Use Your Illusion I e Use Your Illusion II in doppio CD, standard CD e doppio LP. In tutti i formati, per la prima volta che gli album originali in studio Use Your Illusion I e Use Your Illusion II sono stati rimasterizzati in alta risoluzione 96kHz 24-bit a partire dai nastri stereo analogici originali. Tutte le versioni saranno inoltre disponibili per streaming e download digitale.
Il terzo e quarto album dei Guns N’ Roses Use Your Illusion I e Use Your Illusion II furono pubblicati simultaneamente il 17 Settembre 1991. Dopo lo straordinario successo di GN’R Lies e Appetite For Destruction la band aveva l’arduo compito di pubblicare un nuovo album all’altezza dei precedenti e i Guns N’ Roses sorpresero il mondo pubblicando non uno, bensì due nuovi album in studio. Appena uscito, nella classifica di Billboard Use Your Illusion I raggiunse il 2° posto e Use Your Illusion II arrivò alla vetta della chart, vendendo oltre 500mila copie nelle prime due ore dalla pubblicazione! Nella prima settimana i due album arrivarono a 685mila e 770mila copie vendute.
Use Your Illusion I include la cover del brano di Paul McCartney Live and Let Die, il Top Ten hit Don’t Cry e la ballata che è rapidamente diventata un inno degli anni ’90: November Rain. Il brano arrivò al 3° posto della classifica dei singoli di Billboard Hot 100, rimanendovi per 30 settimane; fu anche il primo video degli anni ’90 a superare il miliardo di visualizzazioni su YouTube – oggi è addirittura vicino ai due miliardi di visualizzazioni. “November Rain” include ora, per la prima volta nella riedizione del’11 novembre 2022, una vera orchestra di 50 elementi. Una nuova registrazione del 2021, con orchestra condotta e arrangiata dal compositore Christopher Lennertz, trasformerà l’11 novembre 2022 in un venerdì molto romantico e altrettanto piovoso.
Use Your Illusion II include i singoli You Could Be Mine e Civil War, la cover del brano di Bob Dylan Knocking On Heaven’s Door ed un’alternate version di Don’t Cry con testi differenti.
I due boxset GUNS N' ROSES - USE YOUR ILLUSION I & II Super Deluxe 7 CD + Blu-ray e Super Deluxe 12 LP + Blu-ray comprendono 97 canzoni, 63 delle quali sono tracce inedite audio e video. Sui due lati del cofanetto sono state ricreate le immagini anamorfiche delle due copertine degli album. I vinili sono stati stampati su vinile nero 180g. e confezioni in gatefold. Le due edizioni Super Deluxe includono il concerto completo Live In New York, registrato al Ritz Theatre il 16 Maggio 1991, con un nuovo missaggio dai nastri multi-traccia originali. Questo leggendario show è uno dei tre warmup show per il tour di Use Your Illusion con Izzy Stradlin alla chitarra, la versione originale di Don't Cry e una performance speciale di You Ain’t The First, entrambe con Shannon Hoon dei Blind Melon ospite alla voce. Nei Super Deluxe boxset, realizzati in Tiratura Limitata, è stato inoltre incluso un altro concerto completo: Live In Las Vegas, registrato al Thomas & Mack Center il 25 gennaio 1992, anche questo con un nuovo mix dai nastri multi-traccia; qui però la band si esibisce con il nuovo chitarrista Gilby Clarke. Il bonus disc è un Blu-ray Video del film concerto Live In New York, trasferito dalla pellicola 35mm al nuovo formato 4K UHD con audio mixato in Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround e PCM 48kHz 24-bit stereo. Il Blu-ray include inoltre un nuovo video live di You Could Be Mine.
I due box set Super Deluxe comprendono un libro di 100 pagine con foto inedite, memorabilia e documenti d’archivio, la replica del Conspiracy Inc. Fan Club folder con la membership card, quattro copie della fan club newsletter Conspiracy Inc. del periodo 1991/1992 Use Your Illusion, litografie, cartoline della band, backstage pass, una replica del biglietto del concerto del Ritz Theatre del 1991 e un nuovo poster del gruppo.
