Delivering Destruction: American Firepower and Amphibious Assault from Tarawa to Iwo Jima

Existing literature maintains that the U.S. Marine Corps’ operational success in the Pacific War rested upon two dominant themes: committed theoretical preparation and courageous battlefield action.
